Arts Grounds & Buildings

Completion of the Arts Grounds project will create a vibrant new hub of intellectual and imaginative activity near the historic heart of the University.

To address issues of insufficient teaching and rehearsal space and limited performance venues, the University has developed an overall plan for the Arts Grounds, encompassing new, expanded, and renovated structures for the fine and performing arts.

New facilities envisioned for the Arts Grounds include the following

Renovations and additions planned for the Arts Grounds include

  • Restoration of Fayerweather Hall for the art history program (completed).
  • Renovation and expansion of Campbell Hall for the School of Architecture (completed).
  • Additions to the Drama Building, including a 300-seat thrust-stage theater, a dance rehearsal space, and faculty offices (in design phase).
  • An addition and renovations to the Bayly Building, home of the University Art Museum (in planning stage).
