Goals and Priorities

Endowments for Recruiting and Retaining a Talented and Diverse Faculty

Discovery, innovation, and change require human resources. Each of our focus areas of research and program development will require endowment support for one or more eminent and emerging scholars, as well as postdoctoral research associates. These eminent scholars are senior faculty members of national stature who will use their experience to attract grant support for high-profile, high-impact research projects. Emerging scholars, our rising stars, will launch their careers here conducting significant research in our new and expanded centers. Postdoctoral research fellows will provide valuable support to the research teams formed in each center. (MORE

Student Financial Aid

The Curry School’s aspirations and objectives require us to recruit the best and brightest master’s and doctoral students. We must increase our financial aid packages significantly in order to offer packages competitive with those of other research-intensive institutions. Gifts to student financial aid also support our commitment to attracting a more diverse pool of talented students. (MORE

Research and Program Support

To position ourselves at the forefront of educational research and innovation, we must have funds to support our faculty and programs. The work of discovery requires seed money and venture capital to explore novel ideas and create innovation. Support is needed for pilot studies, research training workshops, management and clerical staff, technology support, equipment and teaching materials, curriculum development, and teacher advisor stipends. Visiting Scholars Program and Annual Symposium

The Curry School must initiate new and varied opportunities to foster intellectual and scholarly discourse among faculty, students, and educational practitioners. We need endowed lectureships for a visiting scholars program that will bring in prominent speakers on topics such as preparing teacher for diverse student populations, conducting high quality research, and incorporating methodological advances. Your gifts will also enable us to increase our influence at the national level through an annual Curry School symposium on effective teaching research. (MORE)

New Spaces to Improve Our Capacity for Innovative Work

In order to provide better opportunities for discovery and innovation within the Curry School, we must significantly expand and improve our facilities. We need additional support for both Bavaro Hall construction and Ruffner Hall renovation. Gifts to name spaces in the buildings and gifts to our unrestricted fund will enable us to complete scheduled improvements. (MORE)

Unrestricted Dollars to Meet the School’s Most Pressing Needs

Unrestricted gifts to the Curry School Foundation are the most lasting and powerful gifts a donor can make. These gifts enable us to provide the best possible experiences for our students working in each of our focus areas. (MORE)
