The Curry School of Education: Transforming Students Into Scholars

Regan FoustPresenting herself as a knowledgeable expert before an audience of professors was a daunting challenge for Curry doctoral student, Regan Foust. Yet she came away from the National Association for Gifted Children's annual conference feeling much more like the scholarly professional she is training to become.

Each year annual giving supports over 50 Curry School doctoral students to present papers at national and international conferences in their field. These opportunities allow doctoral students to disseminate their research, gather innovative ideas in their field, and network with other researchers. "The conference gave me the opportunity to meet the great minds of our field," Ms. Foust says, "Not only was I able to ask them questions about their work, I was able to bounce my own ideas off of them. It was very exciting!"
